Had fun doing this one...beautiful photo from a68stock...with thanks to her.

Painted this in oil paint on a linen canvas....

.have long been in love with Millais's Ophelia ...can't afford a model to sit in the bath all day as he did...so used the photo which to me is the beautiful Ophelia

poor Ophelia...In Act 4 Scene 7, Queen Gertrude, in her monologue (There is a willow grows aslant the brook), reports that Ophelia had climbed into a willow tree, and then a branch broke and dropped Ophelia into the brook, where she drowned. Gertrude says that Ophelia appeared "incapable of her own distress". Gertrude's announcement of Ophelia's death has been praised as one of the most poetic death announcements in literature.[9]

That painting was my introduction to the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and my favourite one. This is a wonderful reinterpretation of it!
